I hate the term blog, I know where it comes from (web log) and I understand why it became the "Word' (internet users are lazy typists) but come on, can't we as educated people come up with something better? Like Journal, it's a good standard, in a faintly musty leather and pipe smoke sort of way, well masculine, where blog sounds like the noise you might make after a few too many pints and a can of kippers. So in keeping with the common internet propensity to shorten everything; Web Journal - WebJournal - Bournal (Bournaling, sounds naughty in a bad way!) - Burnal (Burnaling) - Urnal - (Urnaling?) Ok so Blog it is!
As much as I would like to say that I thought long and hard about the name of my Blog, I really didn't, I started with the simple things like my name, or part of my name, all of those were either taken or sounded to pompous, not that I'm above being pompous from time to time.
I guess the name just simply came out of wanting my blog title to be something I could identify with as well as something that didn't sound utterly ridiculous, like "I like Birds" blog, not that liking birds is bad, but not something I want to go down in internet history as being that guy who likes birds.
On to the whole point of this blog. I find that living in Malaysia can be a little difficult to handle at times, nothing suicide bad, but little things can get on your nerves and I sometimes need an outlet. This is that outlet, I hope to post pictures from time to time, write a little about what's going on and general verbal diarrhea.
I hope that anyone reading this will take what's written in the spirit it was written, in most cases I hope that it is funny, but if it's not then thats ok too, I'm really writing this for me, having said that if you want to make comments you are very welcome to, but just know if you point out spelling mistakes I will just delete your comment. Kidding, don't take life so serious, no one gets out alive.
But I want to be very very clear and say that Malaysia is a beautiful country and I love it here, as I loved Canada, but there were things in Canada that pissed me off and there are things here that do as well. That being said I know I will make comparisons between Canada and Malaysia, this is not meant as a way of saying Canada is better or Malaysia is better, they are just different.
So, read what you like, enjoy and if you feel the need to comment, please do!
Cheers
